ALTA LAKE
Huge lake with many marked trails in Whistler offering many practical activities in all seasons.
Alta Lake, whose Spanish name refers to its altitude of 642 m above sea level, is a huge 110-hectare lake that partly covers the Whistler Valley. Several parks, located on its shores (Alta Lake Park, Lakeside Park, Blueberry Park, Rainbow Park and Wayside Park), offer the opportunity to walk along it, picnic and swim. Several activities are available in all seasons, such as hiking via the many marked trails in the area and kayaking on the lake. A stand is available on the site for canoe and kayak rentals.
