River with crystal clear water offering perfect visibility for the spectacle of two million salmon every four years.
A gift of nature! Approximately two million salmon (sockeye, a species of salmon from the Pacific Ocean) flock to the Adams River every four years in October to breed or die. The Adams River is shallow and the water is crystal clear, so visibility is perfect and the show is breathtaking. Follow the signs north of Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park to get there. Once there, you can walk along the river. The next opportunity to experience this spectacle will be in 2026.
