MOUNT KOBAU
A place with a huge telescope with a view of the Okanagan Valley and Simikameen at Osoyoos.
5 km of trails and a view of the Okanagan Valley and Simikameen. Take Route 3 11 km west of Osoyoos to the entrance of a gravel road (17 km) that will take you to the mountain (follow the signs). The Canadian, French and American governments chose this location in 1970 to install a huge telescope for international research purposes, but despite the ongoing work, the island of Hawaii was preferred. It is nevertheless thanks to this unfinished project that today a road has been built to the summit.
