The first grizzly bear sanctuary in the vicinity of Terrace, an address to discover with a guided group and by boat.
40 kilometres northwest of Terrace is the first grizzly bear sanctuary established in the area in 1994. To enter, you must be part of a licensed (guided) group or be accompanied by a ranger. For your information, the kermodei, a species of black bear with a white, non-albino fur, makes occasional appearances in the Terrace Valley. The visit is done aboard a boat and it is likely to see other animals and birds along the way.
