Located in the city's Francophone district, this museum is housed in Winnipeg's oldest house, built in the 1840s as a convent by and for the Sisters of Charity of Montreal. The museum aims to explore the history and evolution of Francophone and Métis communities in Manitoba and the West. Its permanent collection includes some 30,000 artifacts divided into four categories: history, ethnology, archives and fine arts (the majority are not on display). On-site gift store (La Belle Boutique Blanche).
