WINNIPEG ART GALLERY
Municipal museum among the major art galleries with over 27,000 works and an important collection of contemporary Inuit art.
Founded in 1912, the WAG is the country's oldest municipal art gallery. It is one of Canada's major art galleries, with over 28,000 works, and houses the world's largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art. The collection is highly eclectic and daring when it comes to contemporary art. Not to be missed: the Qaumajuq Inuit Art Centre, opening in 2021, with almost 12,000 works including sculptures, drawings, prints, textiles and new media.
