Museum in Churchill with one of the finest collections of Inuit carvings and artifacts.
Established decades ago by Catholic missionaries, the Itsanitaq Museum boasts one of the oldest and finest collections of Inuit carvings and artifacts, some dating as far back as the pre-Dorset culture (2000 to 500 BC), the period that marks the first Paleo-Inuit presence in the Arctic zone of the North American continent. The museum store sells Inuit art, books on the Canadian North, crafts, local wild berry delicacies, etc.
