WAPUSK NATIONAL PARK
Park with a variety of wildlife and home to the western Hudson Bay polar bear population in Churchill.
Established in 1996, the park covers a huge area of 11,475 km2 in the Hudson-James Lowlands Natural Region, on the edge of the boreal forest and the Arctic tundra. It is home to the western Hudson Bay polar bear population and protects one of the largest polar bear denning areas in the world. The wildlife is varied: Arctic foxes and hares, wolves, caribou, wolverines, more than 200 species of birds... Some of the activities offered are: polar bear observation, helicopter flight, canoe trip on the Owl River.
