THE LAND OF THE SAGO
Site in Bouctouche offering dramatizations of the story of a 72 year old Acadian woman with characters from the play
This site brings to life Acadia in the early 20th century, and is inspired by Antonine Maillet's famous play La Sagouine (1971). The site is brought to life by the play's characters, who perform, sing and play music. The main attraction is the Île-aux-Puces, accessed by a footbridge and featuring colorful fishermen's cottages and a wharf where boats are moored. Don't miss the AKADI LUMINA nocturnal trail, where you can walk in the footsteps of the Acadians in an enchanting setting.
