THE MONCTON HOSPITAL

The Moncton Hospital is a Canadian hospital located in Moncton, New Brunswick. It functions as a tertiary care referral hospital for New Brunswick, as well as for neighboring northeastern Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The 381-bed hospital is affiliated with Dalhousie University. The Moncton Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center, offering tertiary care in neurosurgery, neonatal intensive care and maternal-fetal medicine. It is also a referral center for these tertiary services and other specialized services throughout New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and northern Nova Scotia. The hospital is renowned for its neurosurgery, neurology and advanced oncology services, as well as its child and adolescent psychiatry unit. It also offers teaching programs in dietetics, radiology and pharmacy. A project to build a new wing to modernize the maternity and neonatology departments is currently underway and is scheduled to open in 2023.
