PORT-ROYAL NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Exhibits and demonstration at a historic site in Annapolis, the first permanent settlement erected by Champlain in 1605.
The Habitation de Port-Royal - the first permanent settlement built by Champlain in 1605 - was reconstructed by the Canadian government in 1938, based on Champlain's sketches and notes. The site is animated by interpreters in period costume, who will tell you about the difficulties encountered by the French in establishing this new colony, as well as the building techniques used and the daily lives of the inhabitants.
