CAPE BRETON MINERS' MUSEUM
Mine, museum with various exhibitions and village, a good address to learn more about the history of miners in Glace Bay.
A true site of discovery, the visit begins with the museum and its exhibits on the coal industry, the techniques, tools and equipment used, punctuated by anecdotes and stories about the life of the miners. Accompanied by a retired miner, you'll then explore the Ocean Deeps Colliery, closed since 1947. An outdoor village has also been recreated, featuring the company store, the home of one of the workers and a restaurant open to all.
