Open for over a century, this art gallery is the largest in the Atlantic Provinces, with a permanent collection of over 19,000 historic and contemporary works of visual art. Of course, Nova Scotia artists feature prominently, including folk painter Maud Lewis (1901-1970). Note that a second gallery is located in Yarmouth, presenting different exhibitions from the one in Halifax.
