The oldest fort on the continent and a witness to the country's colonial history in Windsor.
Built in 1750 as a British stronghold during the disputes between the Acadian settlers and the Mi'kmaq (or Micmac) Amerindian people, it is the oldest blockhouse on the continent and a witness to the country's colonial history. It once housed soldiers' barracks, warehouses, a kitchen and a brewery, but today only the cannon and the pillbox remain. Archaeological excavations took place here between 1986 and 1999.
