Memorial dedicated to the daily lives of people in times of armed conflict in Falaise

Housed in the former courthouse since 2016, this is one of the few museums dedicated to the civilian victims of the Second World War. It incorporates the ruins of a house destroyed during bombing raids in the summer of 1944. Count on 1h30 (and a lot of reading, perhaps a little too much) to discover the daily life of these men, women and children who, for six years, lived through the Occupation, the exodus, the restrictions, the bombings and then the Liberation. Petit musée dédié aux Civils pendant et après la guerre. Les 2 salles sont très pédagogiques et le film montre la réalité des bombardements. N'hésitez pas à vous y arrêter. L'accueil est très agréable.

Hôtesse d'accueil très sympathique et de bon conseil. Musée très bien conçu, retrace avec intérêt la vie difficile des civils de la région normande. Nous y avons passé un peu plus de 3 heures. Les plages du débarquement ne nous passionnent pas mais ici à Falaise c'est la connaissance de ce qu'ont vécu les populations locales qui nous a plu.
