Quarantine station for the port of Quebec, in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, where many immigrants sailed.

Located in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, 48 km east of Quebec City, Grosse-Île served as a quarantine station for the port of Quebec from 1832 to 1937. Accompanied by Parks Canada guides, you'll relive the unsettling experience of the immigrants who sailed here in search of a better future. You'll discover an enchanting place where evocative landscapes, inspiring nature and moving stories come together. Find out more about our "First Class" package.
