RENÉ-LÉVESQUE SPACE
New Carlisle garden museum in tribute to René Lévesque, with thematic interpretation park and pavilion.
New Carlisle has decided to dedicate a "garden museum" to pay tribute to the politician and journalist René Lévesque, who grew up in this small village. It offers a thematic interpretation park within a large garden, "between sky and sea", where there are more than thirty varieties of shrubs and perennials as well as a relaxing pavilion. René Lévesque died on November 1, 1987, and is a major figure in Quebec. He founded the Parti Québécois in 1968 and was Premier of Quebec from 1976 to 1985.
