LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM
Lighthouse museum including the lighthouse with a beautiful view from the balcony, the keeper's house, a shed and the foghorn shelter.
A part of Quebec's cultural heritage, the La Martre lighthouse sector includes the lighthouse, the caretaker's house, a hangar and the shelter from the blinding fog. The current lighthouse, built in 1906, has a unique wooden structure. It can be visited and a superb view opens from the balcony. The permanent exhibition deals with the evolution of the Canadian aids to navigation system and two nearby shipwrecks that were stranded in the 18th and 20th centuries. An on-site boutique offers all kinds of creations by local and regional artists.
