Located some forty kilometers from Montreal, Mont Saint-Hilaire is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Its owner, McGill University, is committed to preserving the mountain and conducting research, while also offering educational and leisure activities. Hiking trails take you to some of the mountain's peaks, where you'll find extensive views of the Richelieu Valley, the St. Lawrence River and even Montreal. It's also an ideal place for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
