FORT LENNOX NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Typical eighteenth-century military architecture built between 1819 and 1829 in Saint-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix.
Built between 1819 and 1829, Fort Lennox owes its name to Charles Lennox, Governor of British North America, who ordered its construction. In the shape of a five-pointed star and surrounded by ditches, this structure is typical of 18th century military architecture. It reconstructs the daily life of an English garrison in the 19th century. You will visit the officers' quarters, the barracks, the prison, the powder magazine and the warehouses.
