This place is an absolute hidden gem, it has a cute little terrace in the back. The staff is super friendly and professional. The food is very fresh and they have a superbe selection of wines and specialty cocktails. If you have the chance to visit their top suite it's literally like staying at a museum split on 3 floors it offers a unique vibe perfect for small private events.

We loved our stay hotel Epik! We were amazed by the historical building and it’s original stone structure. Our room was beautiful, and quaint with a small electric fire place and an amazing shower with a normal shower head and an over head shower. The staff was friendly and provided great instruction on our arrival. In the morning they serve a complimentary breakfast in the lobby or will deliver it to your room at an arranged time. We were able to walk on foot to many historical destinations, stores and restaurants. In the mornings it can be a little loud throughout the hallways of the hotel but it is an old building so that is to be expected. There are no elevators but again that is to be expected and didn’t bother us much. We would 100% recommend this to anybody staying in the area and hope to be back in the summer months!

Spent 2 romantic nights with my wife at this hotel. The building itself is full of history as it was built in the 19th century. It's in the heart of old montreal and walking distance from all the great restaurants and historical spots. We just LOVED it. Btw breakfast basket in bed was just perfect. Thank you for the wonderfull time.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Epik! The staff was very nice and helpful. We could walk to tons of restaurants and bars or easy walk to the metro for going to other parts of the city. The room was very nice, clean and spacious! We were very happy with our stay!

I had an “Epik” stay. Much thanks to the hotel staff for their hospitality. This was my first solo international trip and I felt nervous about going but the staff was very warm and made me feel less alone with their conversation. I also felt that the hotel is very safe, as is the local area. The room was very clean and comfortable. I had a hard time leaving the room because I was just too cozy with the fire on. Some people in the reviews noted noise and cold water. There’s a club next door - yes you can hear the music on the weekends. During the weekdays it was quiet. The rooms in general are not the quietest but I’ve traveled all over and as is the same for most hotels. Just bring your earplugs or travel there during the week. My shower water was warm - not hot. It worked well. The rain shower was very peaceful. The breakfast basket is a nice touch and I looked forward to it every morning. This hotel is one of a kind and filled with charm. You won’t get a unique stay like this in most places. I also thought the room was a nice cozy size. Plenty of space. The location is convenient to many great places to dine .. just walk up the street. Highly recommend.

We stay here for one night. They remind us the room just behind the restaurant. It could be noisy in dinner time and breakfast time. They even provide the earplug in drawer. We felt not very noisy. A little music sound from restaurant since there are two entry doors to reduce noise. The room is comfortable, clean and like new. They even give 20% coupon to eat in their restaurant. I will provide my comment separately in their restaurant website.

So the location is great. It’s in the old town so you are very near things, but a few blocks from the noisiest of the places so you can sleep. The breakfast is great and you can have it in the restaurant or in your room. A warning though, there is a room in the lobby. Like you may hit the hostess for the restaurant when you open your door. Be aware if you book the “first floor room” it means you will hear the restaurant until 10.

Great place to stay. I'm sensitive to noise and this place was quiet, only minimum noise from air conditioning. No road noise( 2,nd floor road side rm).maybe quieter than other rooms as it had double windows. minimal guest noise. Great shower, nice breakfast, super location, nice staff. Easy to communicate in English.

Gern wieder.

There is a few let down about this hotel, here is my honest review:
#1 No hot water for the shower.
#2 No ice machine on floors. We had to request ice at the reception and the employee didn't know how/where to get ice.
#3 The next morning, around 10h, there were a lot of noises coming from the corridor, I think the staff started to clean the room next door. We requested a late checkout but we were unable to enjoy our room with all the noises. (Paper thin wall, I guess this is to be expected with old hotel..)
#4 When we checked in, we were told that the included breakfast was available until 11am. The next day we call at 10h30 to order our breakfast to get told that they do not serve breakfast anymore and the deadline was 10am. We have been misinformed and this is an other inconvenience that is added on top of the others.
For a VERY small queen bed room with no refrigerator, no ice machine on the floor, no HOT WATER. I don't think this is worth 450$cad for one night. I had much better experiences with other hotels for half the price (with better location!)
I am leaving this Google review because it seems funny to me that the rating/review for this hotel is that high considering the experience we had. I personally find the positive reviews are exagerated. (FYI I never left a bad review for an hotel...or a review in general.) Also the picture on their site is not that accurate. It is not as "clean/neat" as it looks. It is an old building, and the room are old as well. (For example, our bathroom door was not closing properly. Ac unit on the ceiling get smashed by the door if you open the door too wide...I don't really mind, but the picture doesn't tell you that.)
I gave it a 2/5...but hypothetically even if everything was great (if we had hot water, our free breakfast and if it was quiet in the morning)...for this price range it would not worth more than a 3/5. Trust me, the room is overpriced for what you get.
We still had a great night with our friends, but for all the reasons above, I will not book this hotel again.

Just returned from a long-weekend stay at Hotel Epik in the absolute heart of Old Montreal. Had an amazing experience overall. Treated ourselves to Room 300, the Penthouse Suite. This is - easily - one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever experienced. A delightful architectural blend of old (exposed brick, wooden beams and trusses) and new (modern, contemporary appliances throughout the unit, including full glass rain showers with mood lighting, and a Nespresso machine, which was a nice morning perk). The views were amazing (particularly the top bedroom, which is a glassed-in alcove); the complimentary breakfast (delivered to the room each morning) was an added bonus, and the hotel staff were fantastic. The unit has 2 exclusive patios: one large patio off the main living area, and one smaller patio off the top bedroom. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, and many local points of interest. Nearest Metro stop is Place des Armes, which was perhaps a 10-minute walk. Weekend noise was a minor issue - if you are a very light sleeper - bring soft earplugs for sleeping, and you'll be fine.
Highly-recommend, and would definitely return.

Great location. Well decorated room. Daily breakfast basket. Uncomfortable foam bed, but others may prefer that type.

Beautiful small personalized hotel with excellent service, delicious continental style breakfast and wonderful service from all staff. The only negative is that at the corner of the street is a restaurant that switches to a night club at 9p. The Street was mobbed with about 50 people with 2 cars blasting chest-thumping music bot Thursday ans Friday nights for about 2 hours. It certainly isn't the hotel's fault, but not sure if they had other rooms that were not street side, so if you are a light sleeper, bring your ear plugs!

Just checked in but I've got a good feeling! The front desk person was so friendly and informative. She took a lot of time finding me restaurants and music venues that were near by. Very friendly and professional. ????
I do have a few small critiques. We did hear some loud music at night but it stopped real quickly. I also did notice there is a room on the ground floor next to the restaurant and front door... that'd not be a fun stay I'd imagine.
