Outstanding bathroom with this beautiful bathtub to have a romantic gateway

Rooms are spacious and modern. Service is impeccable. The hotel is located in or near Old Montreal and Chinatown. The metro is a block away and provides easy access to areas such as the Jean Talon Market.

This hotel is nice enough, but the rooms you get look absolutely nothing like the photographs on the hotel website. On the website the rooms have exposed brick walls and period features. In real life, the rooms me and my friends got were just plain white boxes with modern square windows and all modern furniture from the mid-2000s to 2010s probably. Still, the staff and the service were good, with nice robes and slippers, coffee facilities in the rooms, kettle on request, and maintenance issues dealt with quickly. Some rooms can also be very noisy at night time, with loud music from clubs audible through the windows at weekends.

Writing this from a junior suite. The hotel, amenities and service quality from all staff members was impeccable 10/10. The room left a little bit to be desired. The three main let-downs were;
- the choice of complementary products
- there was a leak in the shower door and unfinished structural repairs (moldings, bath engine table, etc.)
- the jetted bath was way too aggressive, loud and incredibly difficult to adjust/manipulate

Overall I would recommend the hotel.

The manager promptly arranged a personal apology after reading this review. The polite, genuine and timely manner in which my comment was considered is the mark of a solid and reputable establishment. I was also made aware of all the options that could have been made available to me had I contacted any of their staff about these issues. This is my blunder as a young adult, wherein, instead of talking directly to the staff I just posted a complaint online.

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel last week. The staff was kind and attentive (especially the front desk staff and bellhops), and our room was clean and spacious. The location next to Place d'Armes is perfect for exploring old Montreal, and the hotel is a walkable distance from a number of other key sites in downtown. Defintely ask staff members for restaurant recommendations if you stay here--they gave us some great ones.

An amazing hotel in the heart of old Montreal.

Centrally located, great service, clean room, great amenities. First time here would definitely come back, the staff is super friendly, if you drive to Montreal they have a Valet service. Everything is within walking distance, there are so many restaurants and shops,recommend this hotel.

Really loved this hotel! Very friendly staff, perfect location and good food! A few minor fixes needed in our hotel room (tv, blinds, shower door), but other than that, it was a wonderful stay! Super clean as well! Would stay again! ????

The best place to be, very quiet, actions is right there, in the old town, really nice.

I had such high hopes for my 3 nights stay. The hotel staff were nice, the place was clean, however, there are 2 options of rooms, and despite what is advertised on Expedia, you aren't in control of which one you get (as told by the front desk). So, you pay based on the images you see, but then you arrive to a different looking room. My room was facing a very busy street, so the noise level at 6am in the morning made it difficult to sleep. If the street noise wasn't frustrating enough, the doors to the rooms are extremely close to each other, so when house keeping was cleaning at 7am I was kept further awake by the loud sounds of bottles, furniture being moved, door closing and opening nonstop etc. Despite my call to reception, nothing was done, and the cleaning of the room next door continued until 10:30 am. It was hell !

Furthermore, the 2 restaurants are ridiculously overpriced! You pay a lot to get very little food. After paying 95$ +tax per person at the Kyo restaurant on Valentine's Day for a 7 course meal, my husband and I were shocked as to how small the portions were and many of the dish(very small) had to be shared, which was 100% a rip off! We aren't overweight, and we don't each much, so paying that amount then having to walk to Chinatown to get more affordable food was absurd. Valet is 42$/day!
I would personally not stay at this hotel again, nor would I recommend it. Everything about it is overpriced, and what you get is subpar. The only positive was my massage at the Rain spa.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hôtel Place d’Armes and I must say, the service exceeded all my expectations. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive assistance throughout my stay, the staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure I had a fantastic experience. Whether it was the valet service, recommending local attractions, or promptly addressing any concerns, their professionalism and hospitality were truly exceptional. I’m eager to go stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone seeking outstanding service during their travels.

We stayed for our anniversary and cannot say enough great things about this hotel but especially the staff. Specifically Amine, Sam, Samuel & Zoe(not to leave anyone out because they all seem to take great pride in their work). All of our requests and questions were addressed and attended to immediately. Thank you all for making our stay so very special.

Great location! Exceptional service! What originally drew us to this hotel was the Old Montreal location. What will bring us back is the customer service. Upon arrival, Sam our Valet assured us our oversized truck would be safe and sound. He didn't disappoint :)
We ate and drank at Brasserie 701 multiple times throughout the weekend and were impressed with the quality of food. But it was the staff, especially Valentine, that drew us back. Her attention to detail was obvious and appreciated.
The room was clean and the electric fireplace was a treat. The coffee in the lobby in the morning was nice. The rainfall showerhead in the large, beautiful bathroom was clogged and a disappointment.

Well located hotel, access easy metro station (100 metres), very comfortable and personal very welcoming, whether it is at the reception or in the bar/breakfast. One small drawback: our room that gave onto the street was a bit noisy. It is a little sad. Despite this, we would go back to here.
