HÔTEL NELLIGAN
Hotel in Montreal with a poetic atmosphere housing a magnificent bar, two restaurants and a bar-brewery.
The rooms have a poetic atmosphere, with a reading corner, fireplaces and verses by Émile Nelligan, after whom the hotel is named. Copper colours, stone walls, dark woodwork and lush vegetation make the lobby an ideal place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The evening will start with a cocktail in the magnificent open-air bar (the Nelligan Terrace), and end with dinner in one of the two restaurants, the famous Verses or the Méchant Bœuf bar-brasserie. A memorable stay!

The valet team was efficient and very respectful.
From what I overheard at the front desk, they treat all their customers with the utmost care and truly made our experience at the hotel memorable.
Bonsoir!
The valets were extremely friendly and were the best part of our stay there.
I had booked an evening at Nelligan to cap off our vacation with a relaxing night before our final trek home the next day. As one reviewer had mentioned the sounds of the horse hooves on cobblestone made for a romantic sound- to which I agreed!
Unfortunately, idiot me didn't realize the implications of that statement. You see, they have poor sound insulation. You can hear most conversations from the street and certainly the sloppy revelry of the local bars as they clear out.
Thus we spent the (Monday!) night being woken up by drunk shrieking women stumbling out of the nearby establishments with the final capstone being a delivery or trash truck notifying us of its impending reversal sometime around 4am.
This on top of several service faux pas-
• Being handed mock tails with napkins on top of the glass with our arms visibly loaded with luggage, then left to juggle all of the above (no room walkthrough)
• "We need to leave early tomorrow, is it possible to put in a breakfast order to be delivered to our room?" [Paraphrasing] "No but you can order it yourself at 7 when they open" "...."
• "Where is the services menu?" "On the QR code in your room." "There is no QR code in our room" "oh it's on the website then" "....."
• "you know you have terrible noise problems, we woke up to screaming women outside the hotel all night" "oh. So sorry."
My friends, where are 2 of the 4 stars hiding in this establishment?
To their credit, it is indeed a lovely building with spacious rooms in a beautiful section of Montreal, and it would seem the wine bar across the street is a grand time, but a 4 star establishment this is not.
