Architectural complex including the stadium, the swimming center and the Velodrome, signed by the architect Roger Taillibert.

On May 12, 1970, the International Olympic Committee announced that the city would host the Games of the XXI Olympiad, in the summer of 1976. The race against time began. It was then that the Olympic Park was built, an unparalleled architectural ensemble comprising the Stadium, the Swimming Centre and the Velodrome, all designed by French architect Roger Taillibert. Funnily enough, the stadium tower, the world's tallest inclined tower, was completed well after the Games, in 1987. After remaining empty for almost 30 years, the tower was converted into office space. Today, it's possible to visit the stadium, climb to the top of the Tour de Montréal for an exceptional panorama (the world's tallest inclined tower, at 165 metres and 45 degrees - reopening in autumn 2026 after renovation work, which will include access to the Tower's roof from the observatory), and attend a host of events and shows, both in the stadium and on the esplanade redeveloped for the cause. There's also a sports center, skateboard park, climbing structures and much more, not to mention the area's star attractions, including four of Espace pour la Vie's five museum institutions (Biodôme, Insectarium, Botanical Garden and Planetarium) and Saputo Stadium, home to professional soccer team CF Montréal, a member of MLS (North America's premier soccer league). In short, a place with a wealth of activities in every season.
