JEAN-DRAPEAU PARK

Île Sainte-Hélène is accessible by bike, boat, bus, metro or car. A little secluded and bordered by the St. Lawrence, it offers a multitude of activities on a particularly privileged surface. You'll find a major belvedere from which to admire the city and the river, not to mention the outdoor swimming pool, the Biosphère (environmental museum), the lakes (Lac des Cygnes to the south, Lac des Dauphins to the north), the marina and La Ronde amusement park. In summer, one of the world's biggest fireworks competitions takes place here, the International des feux Loto-Québec. It's also the venue for the famous Piknic Électronik (mid-to-late May to early October) and the Osheaga music festival (early August), to name but a few. In winter, you can put on your ice skates, snowshoes or cross-country skis, not to mention fatbikes and ice climbing. It's worth noting that the park has implemented a Master Plan for Conservation, Management and Development 2020-2030 to make it one of the most recognized contemporary parks in the country.

On Île Notre-Dame, artificially created for Expo 67 and accessible via the Pont des Îles bridge (an extension of the Pont de la Concorde), you'll find the Olympic Basin, the Gilles Villeneuve racetrack (where the Formula 1 Grand Prix is held in June), the superb Floralies gardens, the pleasant swimming beach (with its totally new natural filtering system) and, of course, the famous casino.
