The oldest private history museum in Quebec that presents historical exhibits, notably on Hochelaga.

The Château Ramezay Museum is the first building to be classified as a historic monument, and the oldest private history museum in Quebec. The museum's historical exhibits include Hochelaga, Ville-Marie, Montréal, which recounts the history of Montreal, Quebec and Canada through a variety of period objects, from Aboriginal prehistory to the 20th century. Another exhibition plunges you into daily life in 18th-century Montreal. Don't leave without a visit to the magnificent Jardin du Gouverneur.

Pretty small museum which exhibits various rooms (paintings, furniture, reconstructions…) relating to the life of the inhabitants of Montreal, it from the origin of this city. The explanations in French and English are quite bright and welcoming (a guided tour is possible in each of the two languages). At the exit, a pleasant garden- where sauntered- is not to be missed.
Very quiet and interesting old small museum. And the small garden full of different plants at the exit is worth seeing.
