Located just a few steps from the Lachine Canal bike trail, the Lachine Market is rich in history. It is the oldest public procurement in Montreal. Opened in 1845 on the site of the current district town hall, it is in the heart of the city's economic center. Destroyed by fire in 1866, the market will reopen forty years later on Notre Dame Street. Since 2004, it has been open all year. There is a cheese factory, a waffle and gardeners in the summer. It is also the smallest public market in Montreal!
