A remarkable Second Empire style building with an impressive fountain, the first national historic site in Quebec.

This is Quebec's first national historic site. Designed in the Second Empire style by architect Eugène-Étienne Taché in 1886, its imposing facade is adorned with the great figures who have marked the province's history. In front of the main entrance, the impressive fountain dedicated to Aboriginal peoples is adorned with sculptures by 19th-century Quebec artist Louis-Philippe Hébert. A guided tour will introduce you to the building's architectural style, the province's history and the workings of Quebec's parliamentary institutions.
