The oldest sporting event in North America (1816), the Royal St. John's Regatta consists of rowing races on Quidi Vidi Lake. Every year, some 50,000 people gather around the lake to watch the competitions, all in a festive atmosphere with food stalls, live music and tutti quanti, not forgetting the evening shows at the microbrewery. It's a tradition worth living, and one that goes back over 200 years!
