Reserve that preserves the heritage of the Slaves, Dene and Chipewyans of the region.
To get there, take a winding road off Highway 5 towards Hay River Reserve. Hay River Dene First Nations Reserve, also known as K'atlodeeche/Katl'odeeche First Nation, preserves the heritage of the Dene and Chipewyan peoples of the region. It is one of only two reserves in the Northwest Territories. Tourist information is available from the Yamozha Kue Dene Cultural Institute. A carnival is held here every spring, with fiddlers and jigs.
