LOWELL GLACIER
Lowell Glacier in Kluane National Park from which a 45 km2 block of ice broke off in 2018, forming Lowell Lake.
At 65 kilometres long, the Lowell Glacier, also known as the Naludi Glacier, is the largest alpine glacier in Kluane National Park. The glacier also formed Lowell Lake. Recently, increasingly warmer summers have resulted in the melting of the ice. Geologists are keeping a very close eye on this particular glacier, which is melting at an astonishing rate. In 2018, a 45 square kilometre block of ice broke away from the glacier... Lowell Glacier promises you a guaranteed trip back in time to the great ice ages!
