Mythical Five Fingers Rapids north of Carmarcks offering a hike to a viewing platform.
North of Carmacks are the mythical Five Fingers Rapids, once a very difficult passage on the Yukon River for gold diggers' boats. Consisting of five impressive vertical rock formations, the rapids required excellent boat handling during the gold rush. Today, only two fingers remain after the others were destroyed by dynamite to facilitate the passage of boats on the river. A hike leads to an observation platform.
