PEACE STATUE
An imposing steel statue of peace erected in 2004 in memory of a brave American sergeant and his brothers-in-arms.
At the entrance to the town stands the imposing Statue of Peace. Erected in 2004 to mark the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, this steelwork was created by Chinese artist Yuo Yuan. It is dedicated to the memory of the courageous American Sergeant Franck Peregory and his brothers-in-arms of the 116th Infantry Regiment, who single-handedly won the surrender of almost forty enemy soldiers. The small garden and stele stand on the very spot where one of the German machine guns was located in a tobruk (individual bunker).
