LAUREL HOUSE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Victorian style house where the two Canadian Prime Ministers Sir Wilfrid Laurier and William Lyon MacKenzie King lived.
This grand Victorian house was home to two Canadian prime ministers: Sir Wilfrid Laurier (1897-1919) and his successor William Lyon MacKenzie King (1923-1950). King bequeathed the residence to "the Government of Canada and the people of Canada", convinced that future generations would take an interest in the place where he and Laurier lived, entertained dignitaries and politicians, and very often conducted the country's business.
