A museum designed by architect Raymond Moriyama that tells the story of the country's rich military history through artifacts in Ottawa.

Designed by architect Raymond Moriyama, the museum tells the story of the nation's rich military history through artifacts, real-life stories, artwork, photographs and interactive displays. The LeBreton Gallery features an extensive collection of tanks, military vehicles, firearms and even a CF-Voodoo fighter plane suspended from the ceiling. Also worth seeing is the Hall of Remembrance and its only artifact, the tombstone of the unknown soldier.

Ce musée plaira aux amateurs d'histoires de guerre. On y découvre de nombreux objets uniques et on y apprend pleins de choses sur les guerres passées.

Ce espace, aussi super que fabuleux, retrace l'histoire militaire du Canada depuis les premiers peuples jusqu'à nos jours. Il est impossible de s'y ennuyer tant ce musée mise, très concrètement, sur l’interactivité et le multimédia. Certaines reconstitutions ou pièces sont, selon moi, à ne surtout pas manquer : la collection d'avions de guerre, la reconstitution – plus vraie que nature – d'une tranchée de la Première guerre mondiale, la Mercedes (la vraie!) qu'Hitler empruntait pour parader... J'avais hésité à visiter ce musée (car il est un peu éloigné du centre d'Ottawa et s'y rendre à pied peut être... long!!!) mais je ne regrette absolument pas. Un conseil : prévoyez une bonne demi-journée tant il y a à voir !
