Located in the heart of the city in the oldest stone building between Parliament Hill and the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, this museum explores the stories of a thriving city and its people from the early days of Bytown to present day Ottawa. In addition to the permanent exhibition (audio guide included with admission), the museum hosts a few temporary exhibitions each year. Also on site: a heritage garden and a café (hot and cold beverages, snacks, sandwiches, ice cream, etc. - some products are seasonal).
