SHARP CENTRE FOR DESIGN
A sort of curious 26 m high elevated table, supported by 12 multicolored steel legs with a public space below.
This kind of curiously high table, covered with black and white pixels and supported by twelve multicoloured steel legs, does not go unnoticed. The 26-metre high building was designed in 2004 by British architect Will Alsop for the Ontario School of Art and Design (OCAD). Under the table, Butterfield Park is a public space frequented by students, locals and architecture lovers. The building received the city's highest design award from the Toronto Architecture and Urban Design Awards.
