ST. LAWRENCE MARKET
A magnificent hall at Toronto's South Market, home to an incredible number of displays from various food trades.
The magnificent South Market hall, built in 1845 and renovated in 1967, houses an incredible amount of stalls from various food trades: cheese makers, fishmongers, butchers, bakers, etc. The atmosphere is dynamic, bordering on the deafening. On thefirst floor, there is an art gallery. Across the street, in the North Market, there is a farmer's market on Saturday and an antique market on Sunday. Several tour companies offer tours of the market, including Bruce Bell Tours (brucebelltours.ca).
