LAKE OF THE WOODS DISCOVERY CENTRE

The Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre is the tourist office for Kenora, Ontario. During the winter, it's open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Inside, you'll find two permanent exhibits from Science North, as well as a collection of over 40 outboard motors dating from 1911 to 1960. Temporary exhibitions, including local art shows, are also held from time to time. Outside the center, you can stroll through the interpretive forest to learn more about the uses of natural species by aboriginal communities. The center also has an information pavilion in Kenora's Winkler Harbourfront Park, open during the summer months.
