ISHPATINA RIDGE
Temagami Hill which is 693 m high and is located on a 320 m plateau.
The Ishpatina, which means "high hill" in Ojibwe language, towers 693 metres above the ground. It stands in the heart of the boreal forest. Since it is located on a 320-metre plateau, it is not particularly imposing. To get there, hike from the Sturgeon River, through some 60 km of logging roads, or embark on a four-day canoe trip to Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park. We then have to cover 70 km and do about 20 portages. Quite an adventure!
