HERMANVILLE BRECCIA BEACH
A remarkable place offering a beautiful walk in Hermanville, a good address for pedestrians and cyclists, to discover.
Here, the waterfront is called "Brêche d’Hermanville". This is where a dike a few kilometres long begins, linking Hermanville to Lion-sur-Mer, towards the west. Wide, this promenade welcomes pedestrians and cyclists along a century and a half of architecture. The site of La Brèche was an important German stronghold in 1944. In spite of severe losses, the English seized the houses on the seafront and, on 6 June 1944, at 10 am, La Brèche d’Hermanville was liberated.
