LOUBSOL
Loubsol is a French manufacturer of sunglasses and ski masks. The brand uses photochromic screens for its masks. These react to the intensity of the sun's rays: the screen darkens or brightens depending on the brightness. It is the first to be able to claim the Origine France Garantie label for its ski masks.
History. Loubsol, the historic brand of the French eyewear industry, was founded in the heart of the Jura in 1974. In the 1970s, Loubsol was a pioneer. It is one of the only brands to offer photochromic screens for its masks.
Over the next four decades, it put its expertise at the service of high-performance athletes and the general public.
In 2013, it was bought by the Batter Group and set more ambitious objectives. In the same year, it launched the XXlight range, a mask halfway between sunglasses and a ski mask.
The products. Loubsol offers two collections a year in different styles: sports eyewear, but also urban and fashionable, not to mention ski masks. Made in France, they are designed to allow the wearing of optical glasses and are equipped with anti-fog treated screens. Children's glasses are the subject of specific know-how. Their design takes into account the morphology of the young, the need for enhanced protection before the age of 10-12 years and the usefulness of the adjustments that guarantee a perfect fit of the glasses on the nose.
Employment. About forty employees for a turnover of 5 million euros.
