PARRY SOUND VISITORS INFORMATION CENTRE
Parry Sound is a charming town located on the shores of Georgian Bay, a sort of inland "ocean". The area offers many beautiful beaches, parks and trails. Ideally located just off Highway 400, in the southernmost part of Northern Ontario, Parry Sound is a picturesque seaside town, situated in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It has a population of around 6,500, with over 14,000 in the immediate area. In summer, the population rises to almost 100,000 with seasonal residents, creating a very interesting dynamic. The region boasts several provincial parks and offers a multitude of water-based activities such as boating, canoeing, fishing and more. In winter, Parry Sound is a popular spot for snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing and snowshoeing. In summer, the area is a popular destination for vacationers and visitors who have discovered the beauty and hospitality of the region.
