Fortress with a restaurant and a museum offering a theatrical performance with characters in period clothing.

This 17th century fortress was once the headquarters of the French Jesuit mission in Huronia. Recreated on its original site, Sainte-Marie-au-pays-des-Hurons consists of more than twenty historic buildings, a museum and a theatrical performance with characters in period costumes. Extras present the customs and skills of the pioneers. For those who are feeling peckish, his restaurant offers traditional Canadian cuisine as well as fine and light meals.

Excellent moment passé en famille. La reconstitution fidèle de chaque habitations et les occupants en costumes d'époque favorisent l'immersion ... Des activités ludiques sont proposées ... On peut ainsi écrire avec des plumes d'oie, se faire un bracelet avec des laniéres de peau... La visite peut étre assez longue car nous la faisons à notre rythme. Les acteurs sont prés du public et viennent à notre rencontre spontanément. Ne pas oublier de visiter le musée qui est reposant après la chaleur extérieure. Les cartes trés anciennes du lieu m'ont particulièrement interessé... Visite à ne pas manquer !!!
