Built in 1895 and 14 stories high, this 122-room hotel is one of the first skyscrapers to have a metal structure. The views are impressive, on Millennium Park, the lake or State Avenue where the big Christmas and New Year's parades take place. The marble stairs, now warped by time, as well as the wrought iron elevators, are original. It is like the time of Prohibition, when Al Capone was the law.
