Chicago's youth are jostling in Union Park, a green space on the Near West Side, for this festival of independent and alternative rock, hip hop and dance. Since its debut in 2006, the festival has welcomed prestigious artists including Sonic Youth, Tome Impala, Beck, FKA Twigs and Lauryn Hill. It lasts three days and is organized by the music magazine Pitchfork, a reference in the indie scene. Since 2011, a French edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival takes place in Paris at the end of October.
