CLARKE HOUSE MUSEUM
Chicago Museum suggesting participation in one-hour tours for 15 people during the tourist season
Clarke House, built in 1836, is now the oldest house in Chicago, after surviving the great fire of 1871. With period furniture and objects, the house, transformed into a museum, presents the typical life of a wealthy Chicago family before the Civil War. It was located on Michigan Ave before it was moved in 1977. To participate in the one-hour guided tours, simply visit the museum. Try to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early during the tourist season as tours are limited to fifteen people.
