CHICAGO BOARD OF TRADE
Chicago's 45-story stock exchange with a 9.5-meter statue at the top of the tower representing the Goddess of the Harvest.
Founded in 1848, the Chicago Stock Exchange is one of the oldest stock exchanges in the world. In 1930, she moved into the Art Deco style building on Jackson Boulevard, designed by architects Holabird & Root. At the time, it was the tallest building in Chicago. The artist Alvin Meyer creates for the occasion a 9.50-metre statue, placed at the top of the tower and representing the goddess of harvests - the face is not sculpted because Meyer didn't think that one day you would see it, perched at the top of these 45 floors.
