Romanesque jewelers' building with a central tower that rises higher than the four small towers at the four corners.
Although the building was built during the Art Deco boom (1926-27), it is in the Romanesque style of the City Beautiful movement, which began in 1893. The building was then known as the Jewelers Building because, at the time of its construction, the upper floors were occupied by gemstone dealers. In the central tower, the one that rises higher than the four small towers at the four corners, Al Capone ran a speakeasy, a speakeasy, a speakeasy bar where fraudulent alcohol transactions were in full swing.
