Commissioned by the architects of the Richard Daley Center, the nameless sculpture, nicknamed "The Chicago Picasso", was offered by the artist to the city in 1967. The many sketches he made - he never came to Chicago - before delivering the final sculpture can be seen at the Chicago Art Institute. The work is made of the same metal as the exterior of the Daley Center.
